Anaerobic fluidized bed (AFB)

Bio Infinity

Technical Description

Anaerobic fluidized bed (AFB) is an organic wastewater treatment technology that utilizes small carrier particles inside the reactor to provide a large surface area for anaerobic microorganisms to attach. By using a fast upward flow of water, the carrier particles are fluidized and the biofilm is maintained in a state of high turbulence, increasing the substrate transfer rate and thus improving the efficiency of the biological treatment process.

Applications

• Denitrification to remove NO3-N.
• Aerobic biological treatment to remove TOC.

Advantages

  • Using biological carriers to maximize the Sludge Retention Time to effectively improve the effectiveness of biological treatment.
  • AFB can be designed and processed high biological loads for the denitrification system to reach 2 ~ 7 kg N/m3.day.
  • Suitable for processing low concentration of organic wastewater.
  • High tolerance for biological inhibitory substances.
  • Can be designed to effectively reduce the space occupying space.
